Podobnie jak pierwsza i druga część, Planets of the Galaxy, Volume Three znalazł się w mojej kolekcji w ramach wydania zbiorczego The Planets Collection. Tak jak wspominałem w recenzji drugiej części, wydanie zbiorcze umiejscawia go w środku podręcznika, zamiast jakby mogło się wydawać logiczne na samym końcu. W przeciwieństwie do poprzedniej części, ta została umiejscowiona na linii czasowej pomiędzy Nową Nadzieją a Imperium Kontratakuje i zamiast prezentować niezwiązane ze sobą planety dostarcza opis Sektora Elrood. Znajdziemy tu nie tylko jak dotychczas opisy planet, ale też sytuację w sektorze, panujące tu nastroje polityczne, najważniejszych mieszkańców a nawet pomysł na całą kampanię toczącą się w tym sektorze, a później podręcaznik dostał nawet całą osobną kampanię w postaci "Operation: Elrood", a także stał sie tłem dla wydarzeń Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter: Balance of Power Campaigns, serii komikjsowej Dark times i wielu opowiadań w Adventure Journal.
