Wizards of the Coast podczas prac nad nowymi miniaturkami podpierają się różnymi źródłami. Niektóre z postaci Expanded Universe nie są na tyle rozbudowane, by tworzyć dla nich figurki, ale Czarodzieje i tak korzystają z koncepcji. Tak też możemy zaobserwować w Star Wars Miniatures wiele znanych „twarzy”, mimo tego, że nie są to figurki typu Unique.
